The Honda Ridgeline is a sport utility truck (SUT) by American Honda Motor Company, Inc. and is categorized by some as a lifestyle pickup. The Ridgeline is one of only two trucks currently produced by the Honda Motor Company, the second being the Honda Acty mini-truck.

The Honda Ridgeline is built using a unibody frame with a transverse-mounted engine, four-wheel independent suspension, flat cabin floor, flat truck bed, dual-action tailgate, an In-Bed Trunk, all-wheel drive—as well as front-wheel drive for select 2017-present US models—, and is only offered in a crew-cab/short-box configuration with one powertrain.

The first Honda Ridgeline went on sale in March 2005 as a 2006 model year vehicle.[5] Production of the first generation Ridgeline ended in early 2015. After a one-year hiatus in production, the second generation Honda Ridgeline went on sale in June 2016 as a 2017 model year vehicle.

What’s New for 2018?
Although the powertrain is unchanged for 2018, the entry-level Ridgeline RT is now only available with front-wheel drive.

The lone powertrain is a 280-hp 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 262 lb-ft of torque with its six-speed automatic. We found this combination to be more than suitable. The engine feels smooth, and throttle response is especially receptive when you call for hard acceleration. Only the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon are more powerful; the Nissan Frontier’s V-6 also pumps more torque. Nevertheless, the all-wheel-drive Ridgeline was competitive in the zero-to-60-mph run.

Contrary to some media reporting that both Honda Ridgelines were built from the Honda Pilot and Honda Odyssey,[7][8][9] Honda's publications state that the first generation (2006-2014) Ridgeline was a uniquely engineered vehicle with 7% of its components shared with other Honda vehicles. Its powertrain resembled the one used in the first generation (2000-2006) Acura MDX but was modified for heavier hauling and towing duties.[1] The second generation (2017-present) Ridgeline took a different approach sharing a design with the third generation (2016-present) Honda Pilot.[4] However, Honda had to modify and produce unique components for the next generation Ridgeline,
